Today I'm going to give you my review of the Movie Black Adam, that was released only yesterday Friday 21st October. I'll try and not get into any spoiler territory as it's only a recent release.
The movie opens 5000 years in the past in a city called Kahndaq with the first self governing people on Earth until a king arrives called Ahk-Ton who is obsessed with Dark magic with his real goal of forging a crown of Sabbac, which will have great power, and is forge from a metal called Eterniam.
In order to stop him the council of wizards rescue a young boy and empowerd him to fight Ahk-ton, the new champion is victorious and the Crown was to be hidden so it would never fall into hands of man. you obviously know were this is heading, and the champion was never heard from again.
We then move to Kahndaq in the present day and things have gone to basically hell, with intergangs taking over the city, looking for a woman called Adrianna, who is looking for the Crown in order to take it from the city to put it somewhere safe.
During the early part of the movie we see her having to release Teth Adam aka Black Adam in order to save them and the city. Things don't go according to plan.
This has been a project for Dwayne Johnson for a couple of decades to get off the ground, kind of similar with Ryan Reynolds trying to get a decent version of Deadpool off the ground and succeeded. I found this movie quite action packed, Dwayne Johnson who plays Black Adam like Ryan Reynolds was born to play the part and is one of his strongest roles and is quite bad ass.
In the movie we have the Justice Society, with Hawkman (played by Aldis Hodge), Dr. Fate (played by Pierce Brosnan) fellow Irishman, Atom Smasher (Played by Noah Centineo) and Cyclone (Played by Quintessa Swindell), these are recruited by Wallar to try and stop Black Adam.
Throughout the first half of the movie we see the Justice Society trying to stop Black Adam. We find out during the course of the movie why they are trying to capture and stop him, which I won't explain here as that will lead to a spoiler or rather spoilers.
Adrianna's son Amon (played by Bodhi Sabongui) seems to have complete faith in Black Adam in saving his city and its people. We see during the movie who is after the Crown of Sabbac. The only downside to the movie is we don't really get to see the real villain until towards the end of the movie. Most DC and Marvel movies you see the villain throughout the movie but here not so much
The special effects are excellent in this movie as is the story. This movie is promising for the DCEU if they can keep the momentum. The mid credit scene will have fans excited for the next movie but I won't say why. Overall it seems that Rotten tomatoes only give it a 42% score were as the Audience score give it an 89 % as of now, and I will have to agree with the audience score. It's a great movie and it keeps you glued to your screens until the very end and you won't feel the time flying. overall my rating I would give it a 4 out of 5.
